NIAC is run by a Governing Committee made up of 9 members. The day to day operations are managed by SCM Risk Management Services under the auspices of the NIAC Chairman and the Governing Committee.
Rob Cruickshank, CIP, Chairman
National Director, Construction
Zurich North America Canada
Mr. Cruickshank joined Zurich in 1996 and has been involved in the Construction sector for Zurich and now leads the Zurich Construction practice in Canada. Rob began his career in 1980 with Commercial Union in Saint John, NB and returned to Ontario in 1981. Rob has also worked for AIG (Commerce & Industry), Guardian Insurance and spent two years on the broker field during his career.
Zurich Financial Services Group is an insurance-based financial services provider, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Founded in 1872, Zurich has a global network of subsidiaries and offices in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and elsewhere. In Canada, Zurich is focussed on developing unique solutions for large Canadian corporations and Canadian-based multinationals.
Dermot P. Murphy
, MBA, FCIP, CRM, Manager.
Mr. Murphy brings a wealth of insurance experience to the senior
management position of NIAC. His 22 years with the predecessor of
the CGU Group, Commercial Union, provided ample training in both
the Underwriting and Claims Management disciplines. Mr. Murphy is
also currently the Vice President of SCM Risk Management Services.
Colleen P. DeMerchant
, FCIP, CRM, Assistant Manager.
Ms DeMerchant has been the Assistant Manager since 1997 providing
the daily underwriting, general management and technical expertise
of the pool. Prior to that she held various head office level positions
of the Commercial Union for over 12 years. Her insurance career began
in 1979 with a large insurance broker where her responsibilities included
very complex commercial accounts.
John Honey
, P. Eng., Specialists Engineering.
Mr. Honey is contracted to NIAC
to provide engineering support and inspection services as required.
His extensive knowledge of nuclear power plants world wide brings
excellent experience which is highly respected.
